Let’s eat!

Eating well isn't a crime!

Good food is delicious food! Don’t ever be scared to step outside the box and try new things!

I started this blog with the intention of packing it with tons and tons of recipes.  However, along the way I discovered that a recipe is useless without intention.  I’ve used that word twice already so what do I mean by “intention“?  Excellent question!  I answer your question with one for you…

Two plates of spaghetti.  One was thrown together in the time it took to boil the pasta and open the jar.  The second took several hours, specifically for the sauce that was made from scratch and simmered slowly.  Which do you think will taste better?

IF you intend to slap something together super fast to fill the hole, awesome!  That is YOUR INTENTION.  This gets you the results from your intent.  Hey!  No judgement!  I have a secret stash of Spaghetti-O’s for that once in a while craving from my childhood.  Intention doesn’t mean elaborate or complicated and that’s what I hope to inspire.

Making a small effort to gather a few simple, fresh ingredients, focus less on perfect measurements and more on taste, flavor and aroma to create a meditative experience in both the preparation and the consumption.  Sounds simple, right?  That’s the point!  That is my INTENTION!

More and more recipes will magically appear here over time but so will tips, tricks, discoveries and challenges.  Food is life so let’s live a little!

Let's talk food...

The most important thing when you make anything, even a bowl of cereal, is to do it with gratitude and joy.  I think the Cheerios bee nailed it.  Be happy, be healthy.

Best Practices...

Fresh

Fruits, vegetables, fish and meat are always better fresh!

Whole

Stick with ingredients that haven't been refined or processed.

Clean

Try to keep foods as close to their natural state, organic if possible.

Colorful

Vibrant colored fruits and vegetables are packed with nutrition.
